Lemon Law question or anything similiar to it?

Question by MarineWife09: Lemon Law question or anything similiar to it?
I purchased a used vehicle in Louisiana recently and I purchased it “as is”. I am not finished paying on this vehicle and the motor has already went out. A rod broke on the motor so I am going to have to have the entire thing replaced. Does the lemon law apply to my situation? I contacted the car lot and was told that he could get his mechanic to look at it at my expense. Any advice or suggestions?

Lemon laws vary between states, and Arizona is no different, the Arizona Lemon Law is found in Section 44-1261 to 44-1267 in the Arizona revised statutes. The statutes declare that if any newly bought car or automobile does not follow all of the applicable and expressed warranties, the make of the automobile, dealer, agent or issuer of the warranty must make the repairs required so that the vehicle is now conforming with the expressed warranties.

Missouri Lemon Law? Purchased a week ago. Can my friend take the car back or is she stuck with it?

October 20, 2011 - 10:18 pm 4 Comments

Question by T: Missouri Lemon Law? Purchased a week ago. Can my friend take the car back or is she stuck with it?
My friend just bought a used car from a local dealership “as is”, The car is purchased for her son who is just turning 16, she said that there are a lot of things she didn’t know about the car when she bought it a week ago. Now that she has been driving it around a little bit she is finding that their are things that don’t work and the other day the car just died on her, thankfully it started back up and she made it home but now she is worried about her son driving the car. What is the Lemon Law for Missouri in terms I can understand? I pulled up some info on it but it makes no sense to me. Thanks in advance for all of the help!
I do know what “as is” means, but I also thought that there was something to protect consumers when they purchase a car when the cost hits a certain amount. I’m not looking for rude answers, if you want to be mean then please don’t bother responding. Thank you to those who are here and answering because you want to be helpful, it’s appreciated very much!

question about used car and Virginia Lemon Law?

October 20, 2011 - 7:11 pm No Comments

Question by Ally S: question about used car and Virginia Lemon Law?
So here’s my story, I live in Virginia, on NOV 3, 2010 I bought a used car(1994 Ford Taurus SHO) from a used car dealership, “as is”, no warranty. The car kept dying and smoking, so I took it back about 3 times for them to fix it, because the guy said “if anything is wrong, bring it back and we’ll fix it.” On NOV 19, 2010, they kept the car for 2 days, fixing it, and I picked it up on NOV 20, 2010. On NOV 27, 2010, the car completely broke down, battery died, power steering seized up(i think), and when we called the dealership and told them about what happened and if they’d fix it, they said “no we won’t, because we already fixed it.” Also, the dealer did not give me a “buyers guide”. So does my car fall under the Virginia Lemon Law where I can basically take the car back and say give me my money back, since it hasn’t even been a month since I’ve had the car? Or there something else that can help me get my money back? Please help!!! Thank you so much.
the car I bought is not new, it is USED
