Question by Ricardo: Can I return a used car under the lemon law?
96 Pontiac Grand AM has been a lemon since bought it 7 months ago. Came with a 30 day warranty. Marked “as is” on paperwork. Don’t think lemon law applies to used cars, especially after this amount of time. Tired of fixing it. List of things went wrong with it too long to list. Oh, I live in CT, since I know that law varies state to state. Thanks.

I recently bought a salvaged car from a small dealership and it has been giving me transmission problems. I’ve already taken it to them twice to repair it and it still gives me the same problem. I want to know if I qualify for the lemon law. Please help. Thanks

I recently purchaced a privately owned used car and it is having problems. The guy who sold me the car misrepresented is and sold it to me under false pretence. Now I want to return the car for my money back and he is giving me the run around and telling me lies like he’s out of the country and he doesn’t have the money. When I purchased the car he said it haden’t been in any accidents and he up kept the car. I purchased a carfax report after i purchased the car because I didn’t want him to sell it to anyone else, and found out it was in a front end collision and received major damage. He also did not up keep the car because when I had it inspected it was low on all of the fluids and the engine was starting to suffer. I’m not exactly sure what to do. I’m thinking about taking him to court, but i’m not sure if this falls under any Maryland Lemon laws.

Question by nichole: Is there a lemon law in virginia pertaining to used cars NOT under warranty?
I bought a 1998 Ford Explorer in JAN 09. Two weeks later my Check Engine Light came on and has pretty much been on since, just going off occasionally. My brother looked at it and a spark plug wire had a whole burnt in it, he replaced them all just to be safe. The light kept coming on, so I took it to the dealership where I bought it, they replace 1 spark plug, charged me $ 65 and said it was driving fine. I went that evening to pick it up, (they were already closed) and it was still acting the same way. I called them the next day and told them so and she said I could bring it back in and they would look at it. I didn’t want to risk paying that much to replace another spark plug that I could have done myself so I decided to take it to a different garage. This garage called me 8 hours later and told me the Head Gasket either busted or cracked and I had Anti’Freeze all thru my system with rust and mud! She said it had been that way for quite awhile and there’s no way they couldn’t have seen it when they changed the plug. It’s now going to cost me anywhere from $ 2300-$ 3000 to fix the problem. I’ve only had the car for a little less than 5 months and am still making payments! What can I do???? PLEASE HELP. I’m a single mom and have to have transportation but cant get that kinda money or afford another car when I’m still paying for this one!
