Does the Lemon Law apply to used car purchases?
Sold a used car, is it protected under “lemon law”?
Question by j_teether: Sold a used car, is it protected under “lemon law”?
I’m in Michigan. I sold my car to some guy and now he says somethings wrong with the oil pressure and that he wants his money back. He claims he’s protected by the lemon law. As far as I can tell the lemon law is more of a garuntee from dealers whose cars are under warranty. I figured since I’m a private party it was sold as is. So am I right? Or am I obligated to return his money?

Question by goldenglove_25: i bought a used car in arizona…i live in colorado?
ok i been talking to a small car lot that had a car for sale…i found it on craigs list…i talked to one of the dealers or sales men there maybe the owner….but anyways, he told me there was nothing wrong with the car that it had one ding in the trunk, and that it had 60,000 miles on it…so i went ahead and purchased the vehicle with a depit card and had it shipped to colorado…the guy was suppose to take an inventory of all problems with the car and send it with the title. i got no paper wor either.when i got the car and looked at it…there was so many issues with the car. the ding he said turns out to be the trunk needs to be replaced no right side marker light..right side mirror is broke..sun roof doesnt work all seat are all messed up…the driver side power seat doesnt work…the interior needs to be re done…the engine bogs out…no power in the engine…when i take off its like driving a gutless metro LOL…the engine wont shift into fith gear…like i said he said there was no issues with the car…he said he was selling the car for a mechanic of his, but still was posted for sale on his lot…i didnt sign any papers or nothing….not even a as is…i didnt get a bill of sale….what can i do about this…im sure there is something…there has to be some kind of lemon law….thanks….

New and used car lemon laws
Are there laws in the state of Georgia which protect consumers when buying USED cars?
Question by MortalGuardian: Are there laws in the state of Georgia which protect consumers when buying USED cars?
I know that GA has a “Lemon law”- from what I gather, it only applies to NEW car purchases. Are there no protections at all for people who buy used automobiles in Georgia? The wife and I are in the market right now, and I have been screwed majorly by people before. I have bought cars before, and the sellers would sometimes just lie straight to my face. I do not trust people anymore.
If buying from a dealership specifically, are there any laws to protect consumers in GA who buy used cars?
